Eggnog

A proper cooked custard rather than raw eggs whisked into cream — the yolks are tempered into hot dairy and taken to 160°F, which makes it both safe and silky. Be realistic about the timing: it needs at least two hours in the fridge before it is worth drinking, and overnight is better.
